A few of you know that we have been taking a few hunters each year into Old Mexico for trophy mule deer. As almost all of you know, trophy mule deer has become one of the most difficult species to get in true trophy size. Either you have to obtain a tag from a difficult draw or pay exorbitant private land hunt costs here in the U.S. We believe that Mexico offers an excellent opportunity at a reasonable price.
We have not advertised in the past, as our numbers were so few and we were working with a Mexican Outfitter and his guides. Now, after recently acquiring over 100,000 plus acres in addition to our existing area we have the opportunity to harvest more deer. Our Mexican Outfitter has allowed USO to use our own guides and equipment. USO has also started off-season feeding and water projects that we feel will have immediate results for the coming season.
The hunt is conducted in three ways: glassing from small hills, searching from mobile tower-trucks and tracking. We will be staying on the ranch in a comfortable tent camp with hot showers and great food. The 6 day hunt dates offered are _January 10 thru 15, 2009 and January 9 thru 14, 2010_. These are the prime weeks of the rut in Mexico and are normally a slow hunting period for most of us here in the U.S. The Hunt cost is $4000 with an additional $3500 fee on successfully harvesting a deer. A non-hunter guest is always welcome to join you, both in camp and in the field for $150 per day.

You will be picked up at the airport in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. USO will handle the firearm permits for you, which now is much easier than in the past. We simply need your rifle’s make, model and serial number. Once the permit is obtained, we will send you a copy and meet you at your crossing area with the original permit. It’s that simple.
Also, if you want to bring a companion that doesn’t want to go to camp with you, we have arrangements at Kino Bay Estates on the Sea of Cortez coast. Kino Bay is less than two hours from the hunting area. While you are in camp, they can stay in a beautiful condo on the beach, relax and enjoy the sights and shopping. After you have harvested your trophy deer you can return to Kino Bay and enjoy the rest of your trip on the beach.
